Sri Lanka, Dec. 15 -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism has confirmed that no Sri Lankan nationals were injured in the shooting incident that occurred during a Jewish festival celebration at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday.

The Ministry said it is continuing to monitor developments and is liaising with relevant authorities to gather further information regarding the incident.

Australian police said at least 16 people were killed and more than 40 others injured when two gunmen opened fire at a Hanukkah celebration attended by around 1,000 people at a small park near Bondi Beach, one of Sydney's most popular locations. Among the injured were two police officers.
