Colombo, Jan. 2 -- Responding to rumors of possible life threats to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that no one is foolish enough to kill him using drones.

Speaking to the media, Fonseka said that drones are expensive equipment, adding that no one is willing and able to attack him using drones.

"Even during the height of the war, Mahinda was not under threat. The LTTE never attempted to assassinate him.

"I would like to recall how my military security was completely withdrawn by Mahinda soon after his election victory in 2010. Wasn't I under threat at that time?" he questioned.
