Colombo, Feb. 8 -- The first shipment of vehicles will arrive between February 25 and 27 following the relaxation of import restrictions on February 2, president of the Vehicle Importers' Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) Prasad Manage said.

Speaking to the media, Manage said that importers have successfully opened new Letters of Credit (LCs) for all categories of vehicles.

The second and third shipments are expected to arrive by March, covering all vehicle categories. He assured consumers that there is no need to panic, as this marks the beginning of a long-term import process.

Manage noted that vehicles will be available starting from Rs. 6 million.
