Colombo, April 8 -- The Government will not further extend the suspension on 'Parate executions' and it is effective now, Deputy Minister of Finance Harshana Suriyapperuma said today.

He told Parliament that 'Parate executions' were suspended till March 31, 2024.

The Minister said the 'Parate execution' law is now effective and will not be extended further.

He said this while responding to a question raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
