Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The Colombo National Hospital the largest in Sri Lanka has been running without a director for the last two months, doctors attached to the hospital said.
An acting Director was appointed two months ago as the former Director was placed in the health ministry after been promoted as an Additional Secretary to the Ministry.
It was reported that issues have arisen in some units of the hospital due to an absence of a permanent director.
It is said that some 1500 doctors and 200 specialists work at the hospital while the total number of staff members comes to 25,000.
