Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath said that no foreign diplomats or diplomatic organisation have raised objections regarding the recent arrest of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Speaking at the media briefing to announce Cabinet decisions today (27), Minister Herath said that while various individuals have made different remarks on the matter, none of them are of significant concern.

He further said that the international community now sees that the rule of law is being applied fairly and equally in Sri Lanka.

The Minister said that although there were past concerns about selective law enforcement, such issues are no longer evident.
