Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and MP Namal Rajapaksa, has alleged that despite assurances from the government, no compensation has so far been received by people affected by recent adverse weather conditions.

Addressing the media, Rajapaksa said officials at the district and divisional levels-including Government Agents, Divisional Secretariats, and Grama Niladharis in affected areas-have not been formally informed in writing about compensation procedures. He claimed that while the President had made certain statements in Parliament regarding compensation, a different narrative had been presented to District Development Committees.
