Colombo, March 11 -- Claiming that the stance of the government on the Adani Wind Power project has not changed, Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today the Adani group can decide to pull out of the project if they are not ready to revise the tariff rates.
The Minister said the government stance is that the tariff rates are high and that they must be changed.
"We can discuss if the Adani Group is ready to revise tariff rates. If they are not ready to do so, they can decide to pull out of the project. It does not mean that all investors are leaving the country. We are not ready to depend on one country or one company. We will consider only the benefits to the country and the people," he said.
