Sri Lanka, Nov. 7 -- The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) today informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama that nine prominent organised criminals were allegedly behind the plot to murder Ganemulla Sanjeewa.

Appearing on behalf of the Colombo Crimes Division, the investigating officer submitted a further progress report and made submissions before court.The officer informed court that statements had been recorded from several suspects who are in remand and under detention orders in connection with the incident.

He further stated that according to these statements, investigations have revealed that six organised criminals were directly involved in the killing of Ganemulla Sanjeewa within the court complex premises.
