Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- K.P.N. Tharaka Niroshan Devapriya officially assumed duties today as the new Additional Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT), marking an important milestone for the institution.

He became the first person to hold this newly created position in the department.

Devapriya, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service from the 2003 batch, began his public service career as the Assistant Divisional Secretary of the Arachchikattuwa Divisional Secretariat.
