Srilanka, Nov. 29 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has reported widespread electricity disruptions across the country, with nearly 200,000 consumers currently without power, Deputy General Manager Noel Priyantha said.

Priyantha noted that out of the CEB's seven million customers, around 25 percent are experiencing outages. Restoration efforts are underway, but ongoing adverse weather conditions are complicating the process.

The Central Province recorded the highest number of outages, with over 20,000 reported cases. Communication difficulties have delayed reporting in some areas. Badulla District ranks as the second most affected, with blocked access roads further slowing restoration work.
