Sri Lanka, July 8 -- Legal action is to be initiated against 982 individuals following a nationwide mosquito control campaign carried out by the Ministry of Health from June 30 to July 5.

During the special mosquito control week, health authorities inspected a total of 144,250 premises across the country.

Out of these, 35,495 locations were identified as potential mosquito breeding sites while mosquito larvae were found in 4,275 premises.

As part of the campaign, 3,812 red notices were issued to warn property owners of identified risks.
