Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a red alert for eight districts previously identified as vulnerable to landslides and related hazards. Authorities have urged residents in these areas to exercise extreme caution and follow safety guidelines.
The alert comes amid forecasts of heavy rainfall in several regions, increasing the risk of landslides, flooding, and other weather-related emergencies. Local authorities and disaster management teams have been instructed to remain on high alert and assist communities in affected areas.
The NBRO continues to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as the situation develops.
