Colombo, Jan. 26 -- The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard seized three Indian fishing boats and arrested 33 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters, during special operations conducted in the sea area north of Mannar on 25 and 26 January. The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard continue to conduct regular patrols and operations in Sri Lankan waters to curb illegal fishing practices of foreign fishing boats, taking into account the impact of such practices on the livelihoods of local fishermen.
