Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- The government's new national program to eradicate drug abuse, titled "Ratam Ekata - National Mission," is set to launch today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The initiative aims to combat drug trafficking and abuse, which authorities say continue to endanger the lives of youth and schoolchildren across the country.
According to government sources, the campaign will be carried out through a broad, community-based mechanism involving public participation, with coordinated efforts to curb both the supply and demand for narcotics.
