Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- A group of past and present students of Nalanda College have taken to social media to defend the reputation of the school following the circulation of controversial footage on social media.
In several videos and posts shared across platforms, Nalandians stated that the incident was an isolated one and should not be used to label or stigmatise the entire school community.
They also urged the public to refrain from sharing the footage further warning that doing so could cause harm to the individuals involved as well as unfairly damage the image of the institution.
One content creator said he was alarmed by the public reaction that even a ride-hailing driver had asked him whether "Nalanda is finished now".
