Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) has announced the temporary closure of several national parks across Sri Lanka due to ongoing heavy rains.

According to the department, visitor access to certain parks has been suspended as adverse weather conditions continue to affect the island.

In Wasgamuwa National Park, the Wawulabe and Mahaweli tourist bungalows have been closed after being submerged in floodwaters.

Meanwhile, both the Ohiya and Pattipola access routes to Horton Plains National Park have been blocked due to rain-related obstructions, preventing visitors from entering the park.
