Sri Lanka, Dec. 17 -- The yellow anaconda calf that went missing from the Dehiwala National Zoo on December 6 has been found after a 10-day search, Deputy Director of the zoo Kasun Hemantha Samarasekara said.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said the calf was discovered during a search operation carried out last night (16), concealed beneath a drawer in a cupboard located a few metres away from the anaconda enclosure.
Zoo officials had conducted extensive daytime search operations since the disappearance, while night-time searches were launched three days ago, he added.
The Deputy Director explained that the anaconda calf had escaped through a very small hole in its enclosure and had been hiding inside the cupboard drawer.
