Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- Collecting money in schools has long been a common practice to support various activities, with amounts previously calculated based on the number of students in each school, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Addressing the media, he added that under the current NPP government, no legal permission has been granted for collecting money in schools. The Ministry of Education has emphasized that if a student feels uncomfortable due to requests for payments by certain groups or individuals, it has the authority to intervene in the student's interest.
