Srilanka, May 9 -- Tourist arrivals to the island nation for the first four days of May crossed the 20,000 mark, pushing cumulative arrivals for the year to date past the 900,000 milestone.
From 1-4 May, Sri Lanka welcomed a total of 20,522 international visitors, bringing the year-to-date arrivals to 917,406.
The daily arrival average has reduced to 5,505, which is normal given the start of the off-peak season.
However, when compared with the daily arrivals for May in 2024 and 2023, the figures for 2025 are considerably higher.
