Srilanka, Feb. 6 -- The Meteorology Department reported that Ratnapura recorded the highest temperature in the country yesterday, reaching 34.4 C.
Meanwhile, the lowest temperature of 20.5 C was recorded in Nuwara Eliya.
Temperature readings from other key locations include:
Colombo - 31.3C
Hambantota - 33.6 C
Trincomalee - 29.1 C
Puttalam - 32.3 C
Jaffna - 30.0 C
The department advises the public to take necessary precautions against heat exposure, including staying hydrated and avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours.
