Sri Lanka, Jan. 15 -- The Meteorology Department said the prevailing showery conditions over the island are likely to ease from today (15), bringing relatively stable weather to most regions.

However, the department forecast that showers or thundershowers may still occur at a few places in the Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts after 4.00 p.m.

Despite these localized showers, improved weather conditions are expected across the majority of the country during the day.

The Meteorology Department also stated that misty conditions can be expected at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, particularly during the early hours of the morning.
