Srilanka, Jan. 28 -- The Local Government elections will be held in April and the Elections Commission will announce the date soon, Cabinet spokesman, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told the weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions that the Speaker has recieved the Supreme Court determination on the the draft Bill regarding the re-conduct of the LG elections.

The Minister said the draft bill will be taken up for debate after the Speaker announces the Supreme Court determination to Parliament.
