Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo National Hospital for at least two more days on the advice of specialist doctors, Deputy Director of the hospital Dr. Rukshan Bellana said today (27).
Addressing the media, Dr. Bellana confirmed that Wickremesinghe is no longer a detainee and is free to seek treatment from his private physician or transfer to a private hospital if he wishes.
He explained that the former president had been admitted with severe dehydration, which has now begun to subside following medical treatment.
