Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Construction of the Central Expressway (E04) Section-1 between Kadawatha and Mirigama commenced yesterday, Expressway Section-1 project official said.
He said 36.5-km-long stretch which was undertaken by Metallurgical Corporation of China was scheduled to complete in four years.
Section-1 includes three interchanges in Gampaha, Meerigama and Veyangoda. The construction would be done in two stages. The first stage will be completed with five km and the rest of the distance will be completed at a cost of Rs.168.5 million.
