Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- According to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), Sri Lankan migrant workers sent home US$697.3 million in July 2025, marking the highest monthly remittance in the first seven months of the year. The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said this reflects a 19.5% increase compared to US$566.8 million in July 2024

From January to July 2025, total remittances amounted to US$4.43 billion. During this period, 173,189 Sri Lankans left the country for overseas employment, including 106,229 men and 66,960 women.
