Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- A joint opposition alliance is the only viable option to change the destiny of the nation, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said yesterday.

"My father always believed that political parties should come together rather than allow divisions to weaken the country. Therefore, we welcome the efforts by the UNP and the SJB to unite. Both parties should come together. However, I cannot say whether this will happen, as I am not a member of either party," he said.
