Sri Lanka, Jan. 9 -- The Wattala Magistrate's Court has ordered the further remand of five suspects, including former Minister Johnston Fernando and his two sons, until January 23.
Johnston Fernando, along with his son Johan Fernando, youngest son Jerome Kenneth Fernando, and two others, were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) over the alleged misuse of a Sathosa vehicle during Fernando's tenure as Minister.
Authorities had previously warned that an arrest warrant would be issued if the former minister failed to appear before the FCID as scheduled.
Investigations are ongoing into the alleged misuse of state property, including a Lanka Sathosa lorry, which is reported to have caused significant financial loss...
