Srilanka, Feb. 10 -- Wildlife officials discovered the body of a leopardess with severe head injuries at the Mayfield Estate, Hatton.
According to Nallathanniya Wildlife Office officials, the three-year-old leopardess is believed to have sustained fatal injuries due to a collision with a vehicle or an attack.
The discovery was made following a tip-off from the Dimbula Pathana Police, who reported the presence of the carcass in the estate's tea gardens.
Further, on the orders of the Hatton Magistrate, the body has been sent to the Randenigala Wildlife Veterinary Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
