Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- An Indian national was arrested while attempting to smuggle in 10.750 kilos of Kush worth over Rs. 100 million through the Green Chanel of the Bandaranaike International Airport early this morning.

The consignment of Kush stacked in 19 packets was hidden in his baggage.

Officials said the trade value of the stock of Kush was about Rs.105.5 million.

Investigations revealed that the suspect air passenger was an employee of a shop in New Delhi. Officials said he had smuggled the stock of contraband from Bangkok to New Delhi and had arrived in Sri Lanka.

A senior Customs official said they used the scanning machines installed in the Green Channel for the first time to detect the consignment of illegal intoxicant. ...
