Srilanka, Nov. 29 -- The death toll from the ongoing adverse weather disaster has climbed to 153, while 191 people remain missing, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) reported today.
Rescue and relief operations continue across the affected districts as authorities warn that the figures may rise further with search teams still struggling to reach several inundated and landslide-prone areas.
The DMC said emergency teams, including the military, police, and volunteers, are working under difficult conditions due to blocked roads, rising water levels, and unstable ground.
