Srilanka, March 18 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Chairman Imthiaz Bakeer Markar has resigned from his post.

Bakeer Markar told the Daily Mirror that he had sent his resignation letter to party leader Sajith Premadasa.

"I will remain with the SJB though I have given up this post," he said.
