Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- The UNESCO support is now in process for the assessment of damages to world heritage sites after disasters caused by Cyclone Ditwah, the Daily Mirror learns.
The assessment is done to decide on the support needed to restore them .
However, there are no confirmed detailed damage assessments published yet for individual UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temple, Sacred City of Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sinharaja Forest Reserve, or Central Highlands specifically caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
There is ongoing communication between Sri Lanka and the UNESCO in this regard.
