Sri Lanka, May 22 -- The Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple is to be declared as a sacred site, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya told Parliament today.

The Prime Minister said the land along Muttiah Road where the lady's hostel of the Colombo University was located has been handed over to the temple. The area of this land will also be included in the sacred area, the Premier said.
