Colombo, Dec. 29 -- Highway toll revenue recorded a notable increase during the Christmas season and ongoing school holidays, driven by a surge in vehicle movement across the country.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, K.W. Kandambi said highway revenue peaked at Rs. 62 million on December 27, while collections stood at Rs. 57 million on December 28. Toll revenue amounted to Rs. 58 million on December 26, while Rs. 54 million was recorded on Christmas Day, December 25. He added that revenue remained strong on December 24, reaching Rs. 61 million, reflecting increased travel ahead of the festive break.
