Srilanka, Feb. 4 -- A large number of Opposition MPs participated in the Independence Day celebrations held at Independence Square today.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunathilleka, MPs Harsha de Silva, Chamindrani Kiriella, V. Radhakrishan, Ravi Karunanayake etc. were among the Opposition MPs present.

"We always participated in national day celebrations as it is our duty," Chief Opposition Whip Gayatha Karunathilleka told the Daily Mirror.
