Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and three others were discharged after the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption moved to withdraw the indictment filed against them in the case relating to the Greek bond transaction.
CIABOC had filed the case alleging that, in 2011, despite Greece being in a severe economic crisis, the accused knowingly proceeded to purchase Greek treasury bills, causing a loss of over Rs. 184 million to the government.
