Srilanka, April 13 -- In a deeply symbolic tradition observed across the country, communities gathered today (April 13), to perform the customary Ritual Bath for the Old Year, marking the end of one cycle and preparing to welcome the new.

Central to this age-old practice is a herbal bath infused with Divul (wood apple) leaves, believed to possess cleansing and purifying properties. Participants take this special bath not only to cleanse the body but also to symbolically wash away the burdens and misfortunes of the past year.
