Colombo, July 19 -- The Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rain and strong winds across several parts of the country today (19).

According to the forecast, heavy showers exceeding 75mm are likely in parts of the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the districts of Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara.

Meanwhile, showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts, with fairly heavy rainfall expected in some areas.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the Northern and North-Western provinces.
