Colombo, April 23 -- Amidst rise in Chikungunya cases in Sri Lanka, Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said yesterday the Epidemiology Unit is on alert and the Health Ministry is making an intervention regarding the matter.
He told the weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions that spread of several viral diseases such as Dengue and Chikungunya are reported these days.
He said the Health Ministry has taken steps to increase facilities in some hospitals and assign additional staff to counter the spread of Chikungunya.
