Sri Lanka, Dec. 31 -- The Health Ministry has started an urgent investigation into the Ondesterone Injection, a vaccine imported from India and distributed during the current government's term, after concerns that it may contain bacterial toxins.
The directive, issued yesterday (30), asks hospitals across the country to report any symptoms or complications seen in patients after receiving the vaccine. Hospitals are also asked to provide details of any tests done on the vaccine within their facilities.
Earlier, the Medicines Regulatory Authority said tests at Kandy National Hospital showed bacterial toxins in the vaccine. However, the full results from the Authority's Quality Control Laboratory have not yet been released, nearly two week...
