Sri Lanka, Jan. 19 -- The haze-like conditions observed in several parts of the country are due to deteriorating air quality and not fog, the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) has clarified.
Speaking to the media, CEA Media Spokesperson Ajith Gunawardena explained that the hazy appearance is caused by the accumulation of polluted air particles in the atmosphere.
He added that this phenomenon is a result of a decline in overall atmospheric quality, which has led to reduced visibility and a mist-like environment in the affected areas.
Gunawardena emphasized the importance of monitoring air pollution levels and urged the public to take necessary precautions during such periods.
