Sri Lanka, Jan. 6 -- Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) MP Harsha De Silva said today that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake had telephoned him regarding the appointment of the Auditor General and had sought his intervention to inform the Constitutional Council (CC) about approving the names sent by the President to the CC.
The MP told Parliament that the President had a telephone conversation with him following the letter sent to the President by him as the CoPF Chairman regrading the appointment of the AG.
He said the President inquired from him after the conversation whether he could inform the CC regarding the matter.
