Colombo, Jan. 26 -- A group of men, including an apparel factory worker, was arrested for abducting a 21-year-old woman attending a nurses' training course at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) branch at Haliela.

The young woman was rescued by the Haliela police on Thursday.

The abduction occurred when the woman's mother arrived to pick her on a motorcycle.

As they were about to leave, the suspects arrived in a trishaw and abducted the woman in front of the SLFEB office. The woman's mother immediately alerted the Haliela police, who pursued the suspects and intercepted the trishaw at Bogahamaditta, arresting the three men and rescuing the victim.
