Sri Lanka, Dec. 25 -- The Hakgala National Botanical Garden, which was closed due to the Ditwah cyclone, has been reopened for tourists from today, the Ministry of Environment said.

This reopening was carried out in compliance with the relevant recommendations and instructions provided by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) and the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), the Ministry said.

Due to the emergence of hazardous ground conditions, certain areas-specifically the pond area near the entrance gate and the access roads leading toward the forest park where such signs were observed-have been temporarily cordoned off.
