Colombo, April 8 -- A group of 103 Sri Lankan youth departed for Israel under the Israel Employment Programme to work in the hotel sector, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said.

This marks the first group to leave for hotel housekeeping jobs in Israel under this programme.

According to the Bureau, a total of 905 young individuals were selected to work in Israel through the FIBA organization, with 855 of them chosen via a lottery system.

The first group of 103, which includes 10 women, was selected from this pool.

An additional 200 individuals have been entered into a second lottery draw and are expected to be selected in the near future.
