Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Ministry of Health has raised concern over the large-scale encroachment of land belonging to the Kandy National Hospital, with nearly half of its property occupied by unauthorized settlers.
Speaking to Daily Mirror, a senior official at the Ministry said attention has been drawn to the information provided by the hospital authorities, and that the relevant officials have been instructed to examine the matter to see the possibility of taking any pertinent measures.
According to the hospital's Director, Dr. Iresha Fernando, out of the 58 acres allocated to the hospital, 28 acres are currently under unauthorized occupation, with houses, shops, and other structures continuing to emerge.
