Srilanka, March 17 -- The Government will introduce the new Constitution according to its own time line, Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara told Parliament today.

The Minister was responding to the Opposition which moved an adjournment debate on a new Constitution where it urged the government to bring in a new Constitution soon as per the mandate it received from the people.

"A tail of a dog does not wag as and when it wants but whenever the dog wants. Therefore we will work according to our own time line," he said.

However, the Minister assured that a new Constitution will be introduced as promised by the NPP.

The adjournment debate was moved by MP Ajith P. Perera.
