Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- Trade Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe assured that the Government will not allow consumers to be inconvenienced amid supply disruptions linked to private sector supplier LAUGFS Gas PLC, stressing that there is no national shortage of LP gas.

The Minister said state-owned Litro Gas Lanka Ltd continues to supply the bulk of the market, while LAUGFS accounts for a significant share through the distribution of its yellow cylinders.

He noted that LAUGFS does not operate under a continuous annual supply agreement, but instead procures gas on a shipment-by-shipment basis, which has resulted in periodic supply disruptions.
