Colombo, April 1 -- The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board has announced plans to introduce a life insurance scheme for workers in the 'Kithul' (Caryota urens), coconut, and 'Thal' (palmyra) industries in Sri Lanka.
As part of this initiative, the board plans to offer an Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance policy, which can be renewed annually.
Under this scheme, workers will receive insurance coverage of Rs. 500,000, Rs. 1,000,000, or Rs. 2,000,000 in the event of death or total and permanent disability.
